Web Account Application

'In Light of Us' offers free web site hosting for people/groups who would like a web site to support their green projects/initiatives or to support their communities.  We also offer web site hosting to financially stressed individuals and businesses where having a web page would help assist in their growth.

Rules:

Web page accounts on 'In Light of Us' are limited to 1 per person/group.  Registering multiple accounts without requesting permission can result in an account ban.

All content posted MUST be your own.  Anyone caught posting illegal-copyrighted material will have their account banned.  Think of 'In Light of Us' as a community meeting hall that is shared by your neighbors.  Please be responsible sharing this resource with your neighbors and don't abuse access.  If laws are intentionally broken 'In Light of Us' reserves the right to contact authorities.

Pornographic/adult material is NOT permitted on 'In Light of Us'.  If you feel there is a special case you may contact admin@inlightof.us for special permission.

Web accounts may not be used for storing/trading files (Example: warez/programs).  Only content relevant to your site may be kept on 'In Light of Us'.  Our staff DOES check for compliance.  Keep your FTP password private to prevent public abuse!

We will try our best to be fair to everyone and respect other's points of view.  'In Light of Us' does reserve the right to freeze or cancel any account it deems abusive and/or disruptive.

Please don't waste space.  If you want to put a high res picture or .mp3 on your web page for visitors to enjoy that is just fine.  But, please, no 400 meg uncompressed BMP's, 200 meg uncompressed .wav files, etc.  Use compression wisely.  All content and web sites submitted to 'In Light of Us' will always remain owned exclusively by their contributing creators.

NOTE:  'In Light of Us' makes efforts to back up our users files.  However, in the end, 'In Light of Us' is NOT responsible for ANY lost data and the end user is solely responsible for having their own back ups.

To use this service, all users agree to hold 'In Light of Us' harmless/not liable in any civil legal dispute over services.  Furthermore, users agree that their remedy for such a dispute is to discontinue our services.

Ok, now the good stuff! ;) ** When you get an account here at 'In Light of Us' you get a Web account with 150 MB of space (or more if requested).  You'll get an FTP account for uploading your files to your web page.  Finally, you'll be given your own web address from a unique name you choose to point to your web page.  (I.E.: www.yourname.inlightof.us)  Ok, below is the application form for getting an account at 'In Light of Us'.  The form MUST be filled out completely and then hit the submit button.  Please wait up to 3 business days for your application to be processed.  Your account information will be e-mailed to you.  If you do not get a response or have any problems please e-mail us at admin@inlightof.us.

Give a unique name (only lower case letters &/or numbers) for your personal web address and listing here. Example: http://www.(yourname).inlightof.us.
'In Light of Us' can host your domain name and direct it to your web page (example: greenpanow.com). Keep in mind sub-domains (example: greenpanow.inlightof.us) are always provided free by us. if you want a TLD (top level domains) they are sold by 3rd party sellers who are independent of 'In Light of Us'. If you want a top level domain we highly recommend google (domains.google.com) as their prices are cheap and service full featured. If you have your OWN domain name provided by a 3rd party and wish it hosted here, what is that domain name otherwise leave blank?
What is your primary email that you wish us to use to contact you?
'In Light of Us' requires a working phone number to verify accounts and in case of lost passwords (text or call). What is your contact phone number?
What is your home address? (NO PO boxes)
Choose a password for your FTP account to access your web page. (there may be some characters added to this password and e-mailed to you for security reasons). Keep your FTP password private to prevent public abuse!
Intelligence test: This field is a test to make sure the applicant (you) is a real human and not a spam bot. This field MUST be completed for your application to go through. Please enter the following numbers WITHOUT spaces: six seven one and nine.
Default accounts are given 150 Megs of web space. If you need more at startup tell us how many Megs of hard drive space you need. Please do not request more than you will initially use. You can always request more space simply by mailing us! :)
